WTRC subsidizes its senior programs with several fundraiser events every year.

Dear friends of Weaver’s Tale Retreats,

In our effort to reduce stress and to minimize fuel consumption, Weaver’s Tale Retreats invites you to participate in our first - ever
Non-Event Fundraiser!

It’s fun but crucial. You can relax at home, no need to leave for a fundraiser event. At the same time you’ll know that you are participating fully in a good cause; to enrich the lives of seniors who cannot independently get out into nature on their own and/or do not have the financial means.

Our clientele is shifting; Boomers are entering retirement age and are demanding vital, engaging experiences to not only challenge but also to nurture them in their senior years. Weaver’s Tale is excited to meet the challenge of the boomers, by collaborating with new groups to create retreat programs designed specifically for this new generation of seniors. We all know that retirement and beyond is not what it used to be. The declining economy and the loss of pensions means many seniors either keep working past the usual retirement years or live on a very fixed income. We especially want to target these seniors, who need respite from work or simply cannot afford the luxury of a day in nature.

Of course, we all want to give from the heart to causes that speak to us, but it never hurts to have a little incentive! So we have several fabulous raffle prizes for you — and the more you give, the more you might get. We have several smaller prizes for those who donate under $100. But for every $100 you donate, you get an entry to the Grand Prize raffle that might win you a vacation worth $3,000! And because this tends to be a small group of donors, your chances are quite good to win

Grand Prize: The Ultimate $3000.00 Build-Your-Own Vacation

Enjoy one week’s accommodations for two anywhere in the world with RCI (Resort Communities International). You choose when to travel and where to stay. You also get two Southwest Airlines roundtrip tickets good for travel in the continental U.S.
Use your tickets to fly to your resort (within the continental U.S.), or use them separately. Total value: $3000.00 Raffle drawing: Friday, October 10th, 5:00 p.m.

Remember: All your donations are part of a “Non-Event” and there will be no big auction to attend this year. Think about how much you usually spend at a fundraiser auction including ticket prices, silent & live auctions, special appeal, wine, raffle tickets — it all adds up. In fact, the average amount spent at our auction is $300. If you donated previously, we are including that amount for you and asking if you can outdo yourself this year. What you gave last year or previously.

Please complete out downloadable donation form and include it with your tax deductible gift to:
Weaver’s Tale Retreats, 4026 NE Davis St., Portland, OR 97232 (503) 913-0048.
Later this Fall, be sure to visit our newly updated website: www.weavers-tale-retreat.org,

Thank you in advance for your generosity.
Sincerely,

Edie Seyl Polson, Executive Director
